Xylem Buys Australia’s MultiTrode in $26M Deal

Water treatment company Xylem has purchased Australian water and wastewater company MultiTrode Pty. Ltd. for about $26 million. Xylem Inc. said Friday that MultiTrode complements its existing business and will help it better meet customers’ needs.

MultiTrode, a privately held company, has a portfolio that includes pump station controllers and supervisors, level-sensing devices, web-based monitoring services, supervisory control and data acquisition software, panels and engineering and integration services. It had approximately $13 million in sales in fiscal 2012 and has about 60 workers.

While MutiTrode is based in Brisbane, Australia, it also has offices in the U.S. and U.K.

Xylem is based in White Plains, N.Y. and had 2012 revenue of $3.8 billion. It has approximately 12,700 employees globally.
