Vestas Wins 50MW V90 Order for Hanas New Energy
Vestas has been handed a 50MW deal from gas supplier Hanas New Energy for a project in China’s Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region in the centre of the country.
Under the deal, Vestas will supply 25 V90 2MW turbines for the Yauchi wind farm. The deal includes a two-year service agreement with delivery set for Q3 2013.
Vestas president for China, Jens Tommerup, said: “The relationship with Hanas New Energy so far has been a very exciting and fruitful journey. Vestas was chosen as their partner three years back because we possessed some unique capabilities that could help maximise the value of their first venture into the wind business. We are proud to have been chosen again.”
Since 2010, Hanas has ordered 250MW of V90 2MW turbines from Vestas.
In April, Gamesa secured a 100MW deal by Ningxia Hanas New Energy Group as part of Hanas’ 300MW second stage project to construct a 1GW wind power base in Yanchi county, Ningxia, scheduled to be completed by the end of 2014.
On 26 March, José Antonio Miranda, chairman and CEO of Gamesa China, signed a letter of intent with Ma Fuqiang, president of Hanas New Energy Group. They did not elaborate on the turbine model.
