Silver Spring Networks appointed by SP PowerAssets to assist with Singapore’s smart grid deployment

Silver Spring Networks, Inc. a leading networking platform and solutions provider for smart energy networks, today announced it has been appointed by SP PowerAssets Limited (SPPA) to deliver the network and control platform for the initial phase of its advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) project. Under this contract, SPPA, which is a member of the Singapore Power Group and owns the electricity transmission and distribution assets in Singapore, will deploy Silver Spring’s IPv6-based wireless networking platform across its service territory.

Silver Spring has also partnered with STEE-Infocomm, a division of Singapore Technologies and a recognized leader in implementing smart infrastructure, for this project.  STEE-Infocomm will provide a variety of implementation and logistics support.

Silver Spring’s Smart Energy Platform includes hardware, software and services and is based on an open IPv6 network, enabling continuous secure communication between utilities and their consumers. With the industry’s largest partner ecosystem, it is compatible with a wide array of smart energy network devices.
