MOU signed for Power Grid Corporation of India for organisational development
The Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd, entering into long-term collaboration in various areas of business and organisational development by exchanging intellectual resources and infrastructure.
Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd is one of the largest transmission utilities in the world. It has been conferred ‘Navratna’ status by the Centre. The status has given the company full managerial and commercial autonomy, so as to effectively operate in a competitive environment.
The MoU was signed by executive director (HRD), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd, Rajendra Singh. After the agreement, IIM will organise management development programmes for senior and middle-level executives of Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd in the areas of leadership development, strategic management and competency development. These programmes will be taught by IIM-L faculties, experts from the industry. Besides, there will be interactions from experts from abroad.
The company can also nominate its executives to various short and long-term programmes at IIM-L to hone their skills. The MoU will benefit IIM students in terms of consultancy, internships and others. They will also sponsor research and conferences taking place at IIM-L. The main objective behind this is to share the advancements, best practices as well as learning from other leading global organisations in the industry.
According to IIM officials, an innovative area of collaboration will be to jointly explore international assignments in the area of capacity building, institution development and training and development programmes.
