Longyuan Power to build 50mw wind
Power producer China Longyuan Power Group Corp Ltd (HKG:0916) has agreed to install 50 MW of wind capacity at a mountainous region in Hubei province, its parent said Thursday.
State-owned power generation firm China Guodian Corp announced in a statement on its website that its unit has signed a project development and investment agreement with the local government of Dawu county earlier this month. The next step is the finalisation of the preliminary works for the scheme.
In a separate press release last week, China Guodian said that its subsidiary in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region had initiated the construction of the 49.5-MW second phase of a 99-MW wind project. In particular, it had begun building the first out of 33 foundations for the 1.5-MW turbines. Upon completion in end-September, they are expected to generate about 118.2 GWh of electricity annually.
