JinkoSolar to Supply Projects in Australia and South Africa

JinkoSolar has entered into an agreement with renewable energy company Acciona for the supply of 274 MWp worth of PV modules.

JinkoSolar will be supplying Oakleaf Investment Holdings with 94 MWp of solar modules for a solar farm in Northern Cape Province, South Africa. The delivery will commence from November 2013 through September 2014. Oakleaf is a joint-venture invested by Acciona and its South African local partner. Once completed, this Northern Cape Province plant will be one of the three largest solar farms on the African continent, says JinkoSolar. About 319,600  JinkoSolar modules will help in the production of approximately 206 GWh annually, curbing around 198,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide in coal-fired power plants.

Another 24.07 MWp of modules will be supplied by the company to the Australian Capital Territory for the Royalla PV Plant between October 2013 through December 2013. The Australian project will be developed by Acciona Energy Oceania. This project is also said to be one of the biggest in Australia. Around 81,600 modules will help produce electricity for 4,500 houses in Canberra.

JinkoSolar will also supply Acciona with 156 MWp of PV modules which is subject to further discussion and final definitive supply agreements between the two parties from time to time in the future, says the company.
