Goldwind Turbines Provide Electricity to the Thailand National Grid

The Theppana Wind Farm, the first wind farm owned by Electricity Generating Public Company Limited (EGCO Group) of Thailand, uses three Goldwind GW109/2500 turbines. The 2.5MW permanent magnetic direct drive turbines are designed for medium to low wind speed areas.

Goldwind International Holdings (HK) Ltd signed the wind turbine supply contract with Theppana Wind Farm Company Limited, a subsidiary of Electricity Generating Public Company Limited (EGCO Group), in 2012. The turbines installed at the Theppana wind farm are the biggest in Thailand. EGCO Group Domestic Business senior executive vice president, Voravit Potisuk, said:

“Theppana wind farm is the first wind project of EGCO Group as well as the first commercial operational wind project connected to the state grid.

“This grid connection increased our confidence in connecting wind energy projects to PEA grid. According to field data of the wind farm, the actual power curve is better than the warranty values.”

Theppana wind farm is located in Chaiyaphum province, northeast Thailand, about 250km from Bangkok.
