State utility Vietnam Electricity group (EVN) said it had signed a contract with a consortium including South Korea’s Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction Co and Japan’s Mitsubishi Corp to build a coal-fired power plant.

The 600-megawatt facility, one of the four plants in Vinh Tan power complex in the southern province of Binh Thuan and which will use imported coal, is designed to generate 3.6 billion kilowatt hour per year when operational from late 2019, EVN said
