Alstom Bharat Forge JV wins order from NTPC for 1,980 MW plant in Bihar
Alstom Bharat Forge Power (ABFPL) have bagged an order worth Rs 2,251 crore from NTPC for supplying three supercritical turbine generator islands (TGI) for the state-run power producer’s 1,980 MW coal-fired power project in Bihar.
A ‘turbine generator island’ comprises turbine building and its installed components.
The company, a joint-venture between Bharat Forge and Alstom Power Holdings, has received the order worth Rs 2,251 crore for engineering, manufacturing, supply, erection and commissioning of 3x660MW coal-fired supercritical TGI, a statement issued here said.
NTPC is in the process of developing a 1980 MW coal-fired project at Nabinagar in Bihar, owned by Nabinagar Power Generating Company, a joint-venture between NTPC and the Bihar State Electricity Board.
“This order strengthens the resolve of Bharat Forge’s joint-venture with Alstom to contribute significantly to enable India achieve self-reliance in energy security and meet the vision of ‘power for all’,” ABFPL Chairman Baba Kalyani said.
