ACCC conductor in ANDE installation
Earlier this month Administracion Nacional de Electricidad (ANDE) completed the installation of 430 kcmil (218 mm^2) Linnet size ACCC conductor on their BPA Bo. Parque substation to their San Lorenzo Substation in Asuncion, Paraguay. ANDE selected ACCC conductor to improve the efficiency and capacity of an existing 66 kV ACSR line that was over 40 years old.
An installation team comprised of over two dozen members of a local construction firm, Constructora 14 de Julio, began the project in late November after the crew received some basic training from CTC Global’s Installation Supervisor Ismael (aka “I-Man”) Dones. The 8.5 km project was completed in less than four weeks.
The line traversed both residential and commercial areas on existing compact 14 meter lattice metal structures with 70 meter spans. The finished ACCC conductor was provided by Lamifil and the hardware was provided by PLP and Forjasul. This project marks ANDES third successful installation in Paraguay.
