Suzlon in 197.40MW project in Andhara

Suzlon Group, one of the world’s leading wind turbine manufacturers, has won an order for building a 197.40 MW wind project in Andhra Pradesh.

The financial details of the project were not revealed, but the company said this is not the first contract it has won from the customer.

“Suzlon has recently commissioned first wind power project in India of 50.40MW located in Tejuva, Jaisalmer (Rajasthan) for the same customer. This repeat order is a testament to the faith reposed by customers in Suzion’s proven ability to execute high quality projects.”

The company has signed a binding term sheet and received advance payment from the client, which is one of India’s leading renewable power producers.

“Once the due diligence is completed and construction contracts are inked, Suzlon will supply, install and commission 47 wind turbines of S97-120 m hybrid tower and 47 units of S111-90 m tubular tower wind turbine with rated capacity of 2.1 MW each.”

Suzlon will offer operation and maintenance services for 12 years through an integrated service package.

The project is scheduled to be commissioned by February 2017.

The S97-120 m and S111-90 m turbines are the latest product variants introduced by Suzlon, and belong to the reliable and proven 2.1MW product platform.

The products are part of the next generation product suite designed for low wind sites.

“The repeat order reaffirms customer faith in our product portfolio, execution and service capabilities,” Ishwar Mangal, Chief Sales Officer, Suzlon Energy. “The response for our new technology products, the S97-120 m 2.1 MW all-steel hybrid tower and S111-90 m has been encouraging.”
